Market Research Project Manager

Analyst/ Market Research Project Manager (Portland, ME).  The Analyst position at PortMA is a Market Research Project Manager (PM) responsible for managing the day to day logistics for primary and secondary market research studies.  This is a direct Client facing position and is the primary point of contact for Clients.

To these ends the Analyst/ PM launches the project, designs and finalizes research materials (surveys and discussion guides), supervises data collection, supervises and/ or conducts analysis, writes the Client reports, and delivers these reports.

This job is located in our Portland, ME office with regular office hours (M-F, 8:30 to 5:30).

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead internal kick-off meetings
  • Draft web, telephone and in-person based surveys, screeners and discussion guides
  • Coordinate with Field Services team to get all data collection processes in place
  • Work with Field Services team to receive all relevant and complete data sets in a timely manner
  • Edit draft reports, verify accuracy of initial statistical analysis and review findings
  • Conduct analysis, interpret results and prepare report findings
  • Prepare and deliver weekly research reports for Clients
  • Maintain Client relations and manage ad-hoc needs and/ or troubleshoot
  • Monitor and updat all project management tools
  • Maintain confidentiality of company and employee information
  • Assist with general office coordination
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy working environment, and to take reasonable care of their own health and safety at work and of all other staff
  • Perform other related duties and support staff in assigned project-based work as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required with a study concentration in social sciences, business, marketing or mathematics/ statistics
  • Direct experience managing commercial survey research projects (3 or more years in an agency setting required.)
  • Must have thorough understanding of descriptive statics both theoretical and applied
  • An understanding of marketing principals (e.g. calls to action, branding, and conversion drivers) is required
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to problem solve
  • Must have intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Working Conditions / Physical Demands:

  • Normally seated with freedom of movement on a regular basis, operating office machines and handling light materials and supplies
  • May spend extended periods operating desktop computer, requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity; and communicating face-to-face, on the telephone, video conference calls, and in writings
  • Periodic physical activity requires walking, climbing, bending, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting and stooping
  • Physical surrounding vary from typical office environment to periods of work traveling to and from client locations, subject to all weather conditions in various locations
